Rebecca - University of Exeter I am Rebecca Selt and I am the new president for Exeter University’s JSoc. This student led campaign is really important for me as our JSoc focuses greatly on the inclusion of all Jewish students, regardless of their stances on the Israel debate. As a teen, I went to many events run by Liberal Jewish Youth, and I was presented with all different approaches to zionism which I believe has played a crucial role in my ability to listen and see value in other people’s opinions. During my year of presidency I will be focusing on making our JSoc environment welcoming to all Jewish students. I hope that this campaign establishes comfortable and safe spaces where students are able to discuss their opinions towards Israel whilst having full knowledge that they will not be marginalised.
